8 January 2005: SoftPear Preview Release has been released. You can run the Mac OS X versions of gzip, zip, unzip and some more small command line tools in Linux, FreeBSD (and OS X). The download (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/softpear/softpear-preview.tar.gz?download) is 288 KB in size and includes the complete source, binaries for Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X, some test programs and a README.

20 December 2004: Preliminary support for libraries is implemented. A set of slides (http://www.softpear.org/down/SoftPear-Runtime-Architecture.pdf) is available that illustrates the handling.

19 November 2004: Working code is in the CVS: Axel's loader + PearPC's interpreter = run any (no-lib, no-syscall) executable on... OS X - we'll port this to Darwin soon.

17 November 2004: Michael's Diploma Thesis (http://www.softpear.org/down/steil-recompilation.pdf) on PowerPC-to-i386 recompilation is online.

2 June 2004: FAQ is available in the documentation section.

31 May 2004: The PowerPC to i386 recompiler works with many small test programs. The code is in the CVS.

23 May 2004: We're proud to tell that today, we celebrate the first birthday of the SoftPear Project.
